MUSIC CARDS
This week the Monday morning ladies wanted to do the music card that I made for my Brother's birthday (already posted - see below) and while we were busy punching the shaps from the word window punch (Stampin UP) I thought it would be nice for them to make anoyher card to go with it. They were delighted with both cards.

BARRYS BIRTHDAY
On Sunday it was my brother's birthday and as he is very much into music I thought it maight be good to use that theme for a card. This is a case from another card I saw online but unfortunately I have forgotten who it was. I have altered it slightly to make it my own , but if it is you then email me and I will credit you.
It uses the top note die and word window punch for the main piano, the music roller and the scallop oval and plain oval punches, all from Stampin Up.

Paisley Petals
The monday morning ladies don't like to have too much of a challenge so I thought the top card would be ok for them, although we did have a few laughs along the way as they were gluing the wrong pieces together! While they were busy doing their thing I thought I would do just a monchrome version as I had already done the sample. I think it turned out ok - very clean looking

BORDERING ON ROMANCE
This is the last card the ladies made on Monday night.
We used the Bordering on Romance stamp set to make the zig zag card.
The ladies enjoyed colouring in the flowers which were stamped alternately on the front, then on the back of the card so that when it is folded you see all the stamped images.
We cut around the top of the design, again turning it from back to front as you reach the fold so that you can see where to cut.
This is a case from my sister-in-laws blog at http://kraftsbykatemartin.blogspot.co.uk/, which I think in turn was a case from http://juliesjapes.blogspot.co.uk/

Mixed Blossoms
Here is another card the ladies made on Monday night We used the Mixed Blossoms punch and stamp set from Stampin Up. (unfortunately the greeting got bent during the evening but I think you get the idea.)

Monochrome
This is one of the card the ladies made on Monday night. Last week and the week before we made cards using the same stamp set from Stampin Up called 'French Foliage'. I think it is quite a versatile stamp set, epecially useful for the Mens cards which we always seem to struggle over. I did spritz it withn shimmer to demonstrate how to use the shimmer effect, but personally I prefer it without.

ANNIVERSARY WISHES
It was my sister-in-law and brother-in-law's wedding anniversary on Tuesday so here is the card I made. It is using 'Elizabeth' stamp from Stampin Up which I have recently purchased and love, mixed with the flowers from 'Marry Me' stamp set from Stampin Up. I also made an inside for the card to finish it off.

BEST WISHES
Another card the ladies made last week was a case of one that I made for my sister Janice last month. I just changed the background embossing from gold to red tinsel instead. i just love making the flowers out of card. They look so effective and are so easy to make.

Last week I decided to use a stamp set that I haven't used for a while. This is a nice technique of just cutting up an image and separating it on a background to make it more effective. So the large stamped square was cut into 4 pieces and then mounted on green card. Make sure that you don't mix up the images though or it looks a bit strage. Keep them as a 'jigsaw' that fits properly together.

Scrunched paper background
The second card my ladies made last week was using a scrunched up paper technique. You just screw up some printer paper really tight then open it up (but don't smooth it out too much). Get one colour ink pad and smooth over the paper. You will find that it only catches on the raised up bits. Turn the paper 45degrees and smooth over with a contrasting colour. Here we used pink and purple. This one should catch different raised up bits. Just keep going until you have the desired effect. Use this for any background as a change.

Where do the weeks go? I never have enought hours in a day! I am trying to catch up a bit with my blogging so intend to schedule a few post over the next week so please feel free to pop by any time this week to take a look.
Last Monday the ladies made a couple of cards. The first one is using a different folding technique. Pop back in a couple of days to check out the next one.

LAST WEEKS CLASS
I forgot to post last Monday's class so before I post THIS WEEKS here is what the ladies made last week!!
We used the top note die but only partially cut through so that the shape became part of the card.
Here we made a lovely box using the top note die and the flowers were made using the Bigz fun flowers die foe the embellishments.
NEW BABY
My daughters friend gave birth to a baby boy last week, so I thought I would send her a congratulations card - made with all SU products of course!

As many of you probably know my Sister-in-law is an avid crafter and we usually get together once a week to craft. Recently it was her Son's birthday and she has already posted the card that she made him, so here is the one which I made for my lovely nephew. If you want to check out Kates go to http://kraftsbykatemartin.blogspot.co.uk/

AS you may know it was my birthday on Monday so I thought I would share a few cards with you over the next few days but also show you what was delivered via Interflora on Saturday. These flowers were from my Son, who lives in Brisbane, Australia - how unusual they are. they are called rainbow roses for obvious reasons! The vase and chocs also came with them (the chocs lasted all of one evening!!!! - can't resist chocolate- aaarrrggg!!!! Back to the gym today for a DOUBLE aquarobics session.............
Well it soon came areound to Monday night again and our fairly newly formed evening class. This week I decided that I would concentrate on the use of the Stampin Up 'Top Note' Die. It is very versatile and can be used for countless designs. Watch out over the next few weeks as we add more to this selection.
Sunday, 24 June 2012
As promised - here are the two cards that the new class made last Monday. The first one was a bit challenging as I showed them how to do the spiral roses. I have been doing these for years as I used to do quilling and made them to put on my cards then. It is nice to see that they are back in vogue again.
Saturday, 23 June 2012
Last week I started a new Monday evening class. One of the ladies is a complete beginner and one is quite accomplished so it was a problem to try to suit these two. Another lady joined this week who is inbetween the original two so we have a wide variety of skills. (I do have space for one more person if anyone lives near Dinnington, Sheffield and would like to join us I would love to hear from you.)
Anyway, to start the first class I thought I would use the new Mixed Bunch set from Stampin Up and use mostlt the In Colour palette. As you can see the first card is quite vibrant and the second is more subtle. The ladies liked them I hope you do too. Please pop back tomorrow when I will post this weeks cards. Thanks for looking.

JANICE'S BIRTHDAY CARD
It is my sister Janice's birthday on Sunday and I have made this card especially for her as she loves red. My husband, sister in law and me are taking her out to Derbyshire for a special lunch on Friday (I hope it doesn't rain!) I have also bought her a red purse and will put some money in it so that she can buy what she wants.
I saw this card as a bit of a challenge as my sister in law posted her card she made for Janice yesterday. Check out hers at http://kraftsbykatemartin.blogspot.co.uk/

Wedding Anniversary
A friend asked me if I would do a Wedding Anniversary card for her son and his wife but she wanted a photograph on the front of it. I came up with this and she was absolutely delighted. When she gave it to her son and his wife they were so pleased that they are going to have it framed!!??

VARIATIONS ON A THEME - by Chris Guile!
Hi everyone - sorry I have not blogged for a while but just seem to be so busy!
Here are a selection of cards I made last week and intended to blog, so better late than never!
I just love the colour combo and tried to make each one just a little different.
Although these are quite simple I thoroughly enjoyed making them.

This is a card I made whilst at my sis-in-laws last week. She is really into scalloped easel cards so I thought I would have a go. They are much easier to make than I thought. I did use water colour paper though for the top image and I think it has made the colours look really nice. All Stampin Up products apart from that.

Yesterday I thought I would make a tri-shutter card as it is quite a while since I last made one. I used some new elements from the new Summer Mini catalogue from Stampin Up - Apothecary Art stamp set, the framelet dies which co-ordinate exactly with the stamp set and the new Twitterpated designer paper.
